Tipper – Wobble Factor

Tipper is an amazing producer i’ve been enjoying for many years. Mainly emerging from the breaks scene, he sort of had one foot outside from the usual nu school breaks sound with his glitchy IDM tendencies. His newest album, Wobble Factor just made it from the iTunes store to my playlist, solid.

He really mixes up the farty lows (as the title suggests) with weird vocal elements that morph and gurgle with the quivering bass, and at times i’m hearing some serious dubstep / 2step nuances. Way to keep up with the times and still stay true Tipper! I’d have to say Tipper’s mastery over syncopated rhythms is what gets me every time, that little bit of air before the next beat that keeps you falling forward. Any of the tracks on here are definitely safe club fare.

I do have to say, the album artwork is entertaining (sorry largest image size i could find), caught my eye during my iTunes Store raid, a cheap reminder of  Alex Trochut’s gorgeous Beautiful/Decay Mag Cover. The album name also gave me a chuckle with all the fun poked at “wobble” within drum & bass.

Listen to Wobble Factor on iTunes. Wop Wop!
