Walker Art Center

July 5th, 2008 at 8:40 pm

I recently visited the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Witnessed tons of amazing exhibits, one in particular that i enjoyed was Richard Prince‘s, his typographic pieces filled with dark humor were amazing. Minneapolis has such a rich art scene, and i’d have to say the walker is at the center of it, certainly one of the best museums i’ve ever been to, from the architecture to the curation, pure choice!

These photos were taken on my iPhone, which take pretty good pictures for a phone. First shot is from the 3rd floor look out point, overlooking the Minneapolis skyline. The 2nd shot is at the entrance to one of the minimalism exhibits, i love the flourished ceiling, reminds me of Ryan McGuiness.

Milwaukee Art Museum

I just came back from a trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and was lucky to visit the Milwaukee Art Museum. I was first blown away by the building designed by Spain’s Santiago Calatrava. The museum has a great collection, I got to see some Warhol soup cans, and a Monet, as well as a bunch of great contemporary, historical, and Op Art. Certainly a midwest treasure you must check out. You can view more photos of the museum on my Flickr.
