I recently stumbled upon these striking photos by NYC photographer Julia Chesky. The model’s name is Chris, and even though he would be considered homeless by most, Mercer street has been his home for several decades. Chris really has too much style to look like your average homless person, his charm necklaces are amazing. The second photo reminds me very much of Alan Watts.
Julia Chesky runs a photo blog that catalogues the city’s many intricate window displays known as Modelizing . She has titled this project the “Original Hipster”, based on a children’s book published in the mid 1960′s called the “The Pushcart War“; a story about the conflict between pushcart peddlers and delivery trucks in New York City.

Fujiya & Miyagi was rockin’ our gear at the CMJ music festival in NYC last week. Now that Dave is rockin’ the Rosary, we can officially say he is a scientist. :D more photos in the post

I’m very pleased to announce the launch of Breakbeat Science Gear. A limited edition line of shirts and hoodies, designed by my partner DB & myself, along with some great artists and designers.
